I totally agree. People that watched the same movie (even if different versions: Criterion, Original, Director’s Cut) have similar impressions of the work, so it should be categorized in the same entry.
There are two solution I see:
1. Ask Amazon.com to give their database between IMDB.com film IDs and Amazon.com ASIN. Since it’s to their advantage (people looking for a budget version of the film that stumble upon Criterion’s version can find what they are looking for and viceversa) I don’t see why should they refuse.
2. Ask the users of allconsuming.net to enter the IMDB ID of the film. Then you can automatically find all versions of the movie from the Amazon link on IMDB page.
I’d really like this Should Do to be done. Any updated from RobotCoop (even to say: “What you are saying is not feasible”)?
